Missing 21-Year-Old From Centereach Found

A 21-year-old who went missing on Long Island has been found.

Liam Whitworth of Centereach, who had last been seen around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, was located in Stony Brook, unharmed, Suffolk County Police announced early Saturday evening, Aug. 3.

A 21-year-old has gone missing on Long Island and authorities are asking the public's help in locating him.

A Silver Alert has been issued for the missing man who has been diagnosed with depression, Suffolk County Police said.

Liam Whitworth, of Centereach, went missing from his Centereach residence on Callan Lane on Friday, Aug. 2 at approximately 6:30 p.m., police said. 

He was last seen driving a 2009 Silver Nissan Sentra with NY license plates AGG-4918. He is 5-foot-9 and approximately 140 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He has family in Rocky Point and employment in Lake Grove, police said.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call 911 or the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.

Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
